I am a self taught artist blessed enough to be able to spend all day immersed in art - I am an art teacher by day and a painter by night.
Here I will answer some of the questions that people often ask me:
1. What is so special about art?
Art is a way of showing others how you see and understand the world around you. Every time you paint you put your heart on the canvas for everyone to see. I paint things that are important to me - the people and pets that I love and the beautiful places that I have seen. And when I paint what I love, it connects me to you - the community of people who love those things too.
2. What style do you like best?
I prefer to work in a photo-realistic style but I can adopt a looser and more illustrative style when the artwork calls for it. I usually work from photographs but I also like to add unique elements and colours that capture something special about the subject. A fine art painting is more personal than a photograph ever could be and my artworks become valued family heirlooms enjoyed by generations.
3. How can art help me?
An artwork can help you to preserve your own memories in a meaningful and special way. Each artwork that I create is aimed at bringing you joy every time you look at it.
4. How much does it cost to commission an artwork?
I can create artwork in many different sizes and mediums. I will always offer options to suit your budget. Small acrylic or oil studies and head-and-shoulders graphite portraits are the most cost effective, and full length oil portraits or large seascapes are the most expensive. .
If you would like to commission an artwork of your own, please contact me.
